ST. BERNARD, Ohio - The Spartan Cross Country teams competed this weekend in the Centerville Saturday Night Lights Invitational. The girls placed 13th as a team, led by juniors Karis Stoxen and Helen Russell in the varsity race and sophomores Avery Bowlin and Gia Ater de Lemos in JV.

On the boys side, an exciting finish between Bryce Fletcher in 19:12, Fritz Russell in 19:14, and Isaac Namaky in 19:17 pushed the boys to a 9th place finish out of 27 teams. Sophomores Elliott Nice and Kameron Griffin-Harris led the way for the boys in JV.

Congrats to our eight new runners—Paisley Sanborn, Emily Hull, Megan Plas, Saffi Vaughn, Isaiah Bush, Wes Mahan, Isaac Namaky, and Jake Rickenbaugh who all made their high school 5K debuts!

The Spartans race twice this upcoming week – Tuesday, August 26 in the rescheduled Clark Two Mile Classic and Saturday, August 30 in the Lebanon Invitational.
