Hello Spartans!
It has been an exciting fall so far! Reflecting on the 2024–25 school year, it’s clear that it has been an amazing one for Roger Bacon Athletics, with so many teams and individuals achieving unprecedented success.
Highlights Include:
• Over 40 All-Conference selections
• MVC Volleyball Player of the Year
• First Team All-State Volleyball, Second Team All-State, and Honorable Mention All-State selections
• Two football players named All-State
• Two girls soccer players earned All-District honors
• Joe Hetzer named MVC Tennis Coach of the Year
• Coach Rosenfeldt led our first Girls Varsity Golf season (previously club/JV)
• Main highlight: The 2024 State Volleyball Championship — the 4th in school history! Coach Alyssa Flading also notched her 250th career win.
• Winter highlights included a second consecutive State Championship for Reese Reilly and two relay teams — nine swimmers overall competed at State.
• JV Softball returned for the first time in 15–20 years.
• Roger Bacon Hall of Fame in November featured the first-ever all-inclusive (men and women) induction class, with nearly 200 in attendance.
• Creation of the Joe Corcoran Award, presented to longtime trainer Melony Haney for 20 years of service to the athletic department and our student-athletes.
• Roger Bacon was recognized by the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association as a Bruce Brown Award of Excellence winner at the Ohio Athletic Director Conference in November.

Fall Update
As we reach the beginning of October, it marks a pivotal time in the fall sports calendar — tournament season! Some teams are already competing in OHSAA tournaments while others are preparing to begin.
Each year, it seems one program turns it up a notch and becomes the talk of the school — and this fall, that’s without question our Golf Program!
• Boys Golf: An amazing season, bringing home six trophies after several tournament victories. They finished 2nd in the District Tournament to qualify for the OHSAA State Tournament for the first time since 1941, finishing 6th in the state!
• Girls Golf: A very impressive year as well, qualifying for the District Tournament in only their second full season! Hats off to Nick Rosenfeldt, Brian Neal, Ben James, Wayne Carrucci, and Girls Head Coach Jack Kunkel!

Season Passes
Season passes are still available for those who want to save money throughout the year. Passes are $70 and are valid for every home game (excluding tournaments) during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.

Coaches Appreciation
The week of September 22 was Fall Coaches Appreciation Week. Our coaches play a pivotal role in the development of our student-athletes — not only during practices and games, but also in the preseason and postseason. Please take a moment to thank our coaches when you have the opportunity!

Winter Sports
As we move into mid-October, that means winter sports are right around the corner. Students should be on the lookout for emails or announcements regarding in-school interest meetings.
If you have not yet signed up on Final Forms, please follow the instructions from our final forms tab on our website ()
Once registered, be sure to select the sports you or your child wish to try out for so you can receive all communication related to that sport.
