AD Notes: November Edition

What school doesn’t love getting to November?! The month brings a change in weather, the overlap of sports seasons, and the excitement of inching closer to Winter Break. Winter Sports are now fully underway, and we are excited for this next group of student-athletes, coaches, and families to enjoy the benefits of athletic competition. I have no doubt we will see teams and individuals exceed expectations and continue to reap the benefits of the high school sports experience.

Reminders

We are selling Season Passes for Winter and Spring Sports for $60 (cash, check, or Venmo @RogerBacon — please include “Season Pass” in the memo).

Earlier this month, Jeordon Kuderer, Trey Hennekes, and I attended the OIAAA State Athletic Directors Conference in Columbus. We were invited to present two breakout sessions to ADs from around Ohio, sharing some of our fundraisers and the ways we incorporate community engagement at Roger Bacon.

As mentioned in the October edition, several Spartan athletes were recognized at both conference and city levels—many of whom are competing in Winter and Spring sports. The number of multi-sport athletes at Roger Bacon is truly impressive, and their commitment and dedication are second to none. No doubt this Spring, we will again see a group of triple-sport athletes roaming the halls!

Once again, please check our athletics website for schedules and updates. Our students love seeing staff members at contests—both home and away—so if you’re in the area during a game, please stop in and support our Spartans!

Information is now available for our 55th Annual Roger Bacon Sports Stag, set for Thursday, January 15th. We are thrilled to have “The Mayor” Sean Casey as our featured Tom Roebel Award Winner, and Mike Blaut ’88 will receive this year’s Bacevich Award.
