OXFORD, Ohio - Roger Bacon Swimming competed in District Championships on Friday. The Spartan Swimmers stepped up and performed at an amazing level. The performances by both the Boys and Girls Team contributed to top 10 team finishes in the District Meet. The boys team moved up in team scores from last year to finish in 6th place. The girls team finished in 7th place in team points.

Top 16 Finishes on the girls side:
200 Medley Relay Team of Paige Ernst, Reese Reilly, Brenna Huber, and Erin Pare finished in 3rd place
200 IM- Senior Reese Reilly finished in 3rd place
50 Freestyle- Sophomore Brenna Huber finished in 4th place, Senior Erin Pare finished in 16th place
100 Butterfly- Junior Hellen Russell finished in 12th place
500 Freestyle- Sophomore Annie Boyle finished in 16th place
200 Freestyle Relay Team- of Brenna Huber, Annie Boyle, Helen Russell, and Erin Pare finished in 6th place
100 Backstroke- Sophomore Paige Ernst finished in 16th place
100 Breaststroke- Senior Reese Reilly was the District Champion in this event. This was Reese’s 4 consecutive District Title in the 100 Breaststroke
400 Freestyle Relay Team- of Paige Ernst, Brenna Huber, Helen Russell, and Reese Reilly finished in 5th place

Also Congratulations to all three girls relay teams who broke school records on Friday Evening.
The 200 Medley Relay lowered their school record to a 1:49.97 that was set in January at Coaches Classic.
The 200 Freestyle Relay broke a 21 year old school record from 2005 by over a ½ second to a 1:43.44.
The 400 Freestyle Relay shattered the school record that was set last year by over 5 seconds to lower the record to a 3:42.56.

200 Freestyle- Junior Matt Schomaker finished in 8th Place
200 IM- Sophomore Fritz Russell finished in 6th place, Senior Noble Honkomp finished in 14th place
100 Butterfly- Sophomore Fritz Russell finished in 7th place
500 Freestyle- Junior Matt Schomaker finished in 3rd place
200 Freestyle Relay Team- of Matt Schomaker, Teddy Borgert, Noble Honkomp, and Fritz Russell finished in 6th place
400 Freestyle Relay Team- of Matt Schomaker, Teddy Borgert, Noble Honkomp, and Fritz Russell finished in 5th place

Congratulations to the Boys 400 Freestyle Relay Team. This is the first time in 20 years the Boys Team has qualified a relay team to state.
