ST. BERNARD - Roger Bacon Baseball heads into their MVC slate starting today, Wednesday, April 15th, at CHCA.

Led by a strong core of 13 seniors, the Spartans are aiming to capture their first conference championship since 1968.

RB finished 5th in the MVC last season but caught fire at the right time - winning three straight games before the OHSAA Tournament and securing the program’s 10th District Championship with a 7–2 victory over Shawnee at National Trail High School before falling 4-3 on a walk-off base hit against Jonathan Alder in the Regional Semifinal game.

The Spartans opened the 2026 season against four tough opponents in Nashville, Tennessee, finishing 1–3. Despite the record, the trip provided valuable experience and confidence against some of the nation’s top competition.

Since returning, RB has been on a roll:
• Def. Wyoming, 7–5
• Def. Colerain, 5–1 (Reds Futures Showcase)
• Def. Walnut Hills, 12–2 (5 innings)
• Def. Reading, 10–0 (5 innings)

Now winners of four straight, the Spartans sit at 5–3 entering MVC play.

With the MVC split into three divisions this season, RB’s conference opponents include CHCA, Purcell Marian, Cincinnati Christian, Summit Country Day, and Cincinnati Country Day. The Spartans will face each in a three-game series.

Non-conference matchups include:
• Indian Hill (April 25th)
• Batavia (May 9th)
• Regular season finale at Great American Ball Park (May 16th)
