ST. BERNARD - Recently signed San Francisco 49er James Thompson Jr. '20 returned home last week as he stopped by the Senior Night win for RB Boys Volleyball over Hamilton last Wednesday.

Thompson recently signed as an undrafted free agent. A defensive tackle, Thompson Jr. played college football for Wisconsin from 2020-2024 and Illinois in 2025. James finished his college career playing in 54 games, earning 100 tackles (47 solo), 15 tackles for loss, and 7 sacks.

James is the 2nd RB Football player to sign with an NFL team in the last two years. Corey Kiner '21 signed with the 49ers last year before joining the Arizona Cardinals roster as a running back.
