CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Spartans turned in a strong showing Monday night at the CHCA Invitational, highlighted by multiple personal records and standout efforts.
On the track, Rhys Jacobs delivered an impressive performance in the 300-meter hurdles, clocking a personal-best 39.33. Emma Kamphaus also had a big night, earning PRs in both the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, while Naomi Davis Rhodes set a new personal record in the 100-meter dash.
In the 400-meter dash, Eric Smith posted a solid 53.3 and later anchored the 4x400-meter relay. With three athletes stepping up to help fill out the lineup, the team showed grit and determination to close out the meet.
Additional highlights came from Rondaez Allen in the 100 meter run, along with throwers Mitch Sehlhorst and Layne Walsh, whose split times in the 4x400-meter relay were especially impressive-each outpacing more than half the field in the open 400-meter event.
Overall, it was a night of growth and strong performances for the Spartans as they continue to build momentum this season.
